Pleasant Birding Days

It was a nice pleasant week weather wise.  A little cooler which I like. Here are some birds I saw through the week.

Red-tailed Hawk

Eastern Kingbird

At the Coves, a few Great Egrets have been hanging around and always Great Blue Herons.

Mourning Dove

Common  Grackle

I enjoy watching this Osprey family.

At Greenway Park, I saw my FOY Double-crested Cormorant.  I usually see them every month through the summer at Thames River and the Coves.  This year, I have not seen any until July 31.

I'm still not seeing many butterflies or even dragonflies.

Common Whitetail (female)

Summer Azure

  1. Hi Susan, great collection of sightings! Just a little correction on an ID - that last photo might be a Summer Azure - which looks close to an eastern tailed blue. Keep up the great nature blogging!

Your last butterfly is actually an azure.
