Wandering in Nature


Sunday, May 14, 2017 - Took a drive to Elgin County, south of St. Thomas this afternoon. 
List - Black-and-White Warbler, American Redstart, Catbird, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Yellow Warbler, Wood Duck, Barn Swallows, Song Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Chipping Sparrow, American Goldfinch, Turkey Vulture, Canada Geese, Cardinal, Robin, Mourning Dove and Grackle

Venturing in the Park


I went to Springbank Park, London, Ontario this morning.  It was cool, high of 8 and sunny.  I saw a number of birds today.  Song Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbirds, Barn Swallows, Baltimore Oriole, Mallard, Canada Geese with goslings, Chipping Sparrow, Downy Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Robin, Cardinal, Yellow Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, and Black-and-White Warbler.

Rondeau Park - 2013

I went to Rondeau Park for birding, May 5, 2013, May11, 2013, May 18, 2013.
Today, May 18, was a very warm, sunny day.  I saw the usual common birds plus Eastern Wood Pewee, White-eyed Vireo, Purple Martin, Tree Swallows, Red-breasted Nuthatch, House Wren, Veery, Swainson's Thrush, Brown Thrasher, Ovenbird, Black-and-White Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Baltimore Oriole and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

Rondeau Park - 2011


It was a nice sunny day, high of 16 degrees.  Spent the day walking the Tulip Tree Trail, Spicebush Trail, and a bit of the Marsh Trail.
