Exploring Around London - mid-August

Another quiet week and hard to find many things.  Here are some photos from last week.  It has been very hot and humid lately.  Some flycatchers are being seen now.

Late August Birding

August 24-29, 2020

I walked in Hyde Park a few times this past week.  I was hoping to find some shorebirds and warblers.  The Barn Swallows were flying around over a large piece of grass.  I also saw Cabbage Whites, Northern Crescents, Eastern Tailed-Blues and Common Ringlets.

Eastern Kingbird

American Robin

Small flocks of Cedar Waxwings were around.

I was surprised to see this female Purple Finch...FOY.

Saturday was overcast with rain off and on.  This is the second time this year that I've seen an Olive-sided Flycatcher.

One day, I was at the Coves and saw 6 Great Blue Herons.  The photos below are the 6 herons.
