London Area
Lovely morning for birding. It's nice to see and hear more signs of Spring. The Red-winged Blackbirds, Song Sparrows, American Robins, Northern Cardinals, and Carolina Wrens.
I saw a pair of Wood Ducks...they will probably nest in this area.
Red-bellied Woodpeckers are already building their nests.
Starlings are finding a suitable place for nesting.

Great Horned Owl - Her babies are underneath her while she is having a sleep. The babies are probably getting big as she is more propped up. Last time I could only see the top of her head.

Greenway Park
This morning, I was birding in Greenway Park and was excited to see Sandhill Cranes fly over.
Gibbons Park, London, Ontario
I went for a walk in Gibbons Park this morning. The Thames River is overflowing and causing some flooding. The geese and ducks love it! I took some shots of the flood areas...it was a very dull, overcast morning so photos are not great.
I visited Mom Owl, she was having a nap. The babies are in there somewhere!
Week of March 1-6, 2020
This week, signs of Spring has arrived! Hearing the birds sing...Cardinals, Song Sparrows, American Robins and Red-winged Blackbirds.
With lots of rain and melting snow, Thames River is very high and fast flowing. The ponds at the Coves are still frozen but with some warm sun and milder weather hopefully it will melt very soon.

At the Coves, I saw 3 Great Blue Herons together.
I still see some Common Mergansers and Common Goldeneyes. They will be heading north soon.
