Mid - February Birding - 2026

I have been birding at the Coves and Greenway Park most of February.  There are a nice variety of ducks at the river. We have had lots of snow through February and some very cold days. Right now (Feb 23/26) the river is very high and fast moving as we had a few mild days and rain/freezing rain.  Here are some of my photos I took recently.

New Year's Day BIrding 2018

New Year's Day Bird Walk (Nature London) - Greenway Park

It was a very bitterly cold walk this morning:  -14C with windchill -24C, light snow.  My first bird for 2018 is the Bald Eagle.

We walked along the Thames River to see what we can find.

What I saw: Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, Mourning Dove, Brown Creeper, Mallard, Canada Geese, Common Goldeneye, Common Merganser, Pied-billed Grebe, Great Blue Heron, Common Crow, and Ringed-billed Gull.  There were other birds found but I could not get my eye on them.
